SSD Solid State Drives
Solid State Drives or SSD drives are the future of computer storage and will replace standard hard drives over the coming years. An SSD drive looks similar to a standard computer hard drive but it is flash based which means it's similar in build as a digital memory card. SSD drives have many benefits such as: No Moving Parts - This means that SSD drives are extremely rugged and shock proof. If a laptop fitted with an SSD hard drive is dropped there is no risk to the data on the drive. If a standard hard drive is dropped there is always risk to the data. Faster Performance - SSD drives have faster operating speeds than standard hard drives. This means that your computer will perform better as programs load faster and smoother. You will also notice a considerable difference in the boot-up speed of your computer. They Use Less Power - SSD drives have no moving parts so use less power than a standard computer hard drive. This is beneficial especially for laptop users as it can increase the battery life of the computer. Lighter - SSD drives are flash based so they are much lighter than a standard drive. Again in laptop computers this is especially beneficial as it makes the whole computer much lighter. We currently stock a range of SSD drives from UK memory brand Integral. We have a variet of internal and external SSD drives. Most of the hard drives are 2.5" mobile drives for laptops but all of the internal drives can be used in desktop pcs via the adaptor kit sold seperately. SSD drives start from 32GB in capacity right up to 256GB.
