Beat the Vat Increase – Most Items are Vat Free

Jan 5, 2011 Author admin

You can easily beat the vat increases at Low Price Memory as most of our items are vat free.  We are a Jersey based company and don’t charge vat on items sold under a certain value. Any item that you see on the website priced under £20 is  sold as vat free. This means that you are saving 20 percent on many items when compared to the prices of a UK based company.

The majority of memory cards on the site are under the vat free limit so there are plenty of big savings to be had at a time of year when most other companies are increasing their prices due to the January vat increase.

Christmas Deliveries and Posting Dates

Dec 15, 2010 Author admin

Due to the recent bad weather we are now asking customers to order on or before Friday 17th December if they would like to receive their items before Christmas.

The Royal Mail are taking roughly 2-3 days longer than usual to deliver items at the moment. This is a result of the backlog created by the recent bad weather. The worst hit areas are Scotland and the North of England although we have been seeing delays across the whole of the UK.

Christmas Deliveries  – Please order on or before 17th December for pre Christmas deliveries

We will be taking orders throughout the holiday period but orders placed between 25th – 27th December will be processed and dispatched on 28th December.

New Years Posting – Any order placed between 1st Jan -  3rd Jan will be dispatched on Tuesday 4th Jan.
If you have any other questions about deliveries throughout the festive period please feel free to contact us.

The Future of Storage is Here!

Are you tired of slow boot-up speeds? Are you always waiting for you computer to load programs? Well the possible answer to your problems could be to upgrade your computer’s hard drive to an SSD drive. SSD drives are flash based hard drives that are much faster than standard hard drives and as they are flash based they have no moving parts making them extremely rugged and shockproof.
SSD stands for Solid State Drive and is the future of computer internal and external storage. There are many benefits of using an SSD drive over a conventional computer hard drive:

Lightwight: SSD drives are flash based which means they are similar in construction to a digital memory card. This means they have no heavy internal parts and makes them extremely lightweight.

Less Power Consumption: Due to the fact that they have no moving parts they use less power than a normal computer hard drive. This is noticeable when used in a laptop or notebook pc as it will result in longer battery life.

Rugged: SSD drives are very rugged and shockproof meaning that there is no risk of data loss if the computer is dropped. This is especially beneficial in professions where laptop computers are being carried around from place to place.

Faster Boot-up Times: SSD hard drives have faster operating speeds than standard hard drives meaning that your computer will boot-up faster. You will also notice that programs will operate smoother due to the faster data transfer rates.

No Noise: Due to the fact that Solid State Drives are solid with no moving parts there is no operating noise that you would get with a standard computer hard drive.

I’m sure you will agree that there are many benefits of upgrading to an SSD drive to boost your pc’s performance. Over the coming months we expect SSD hard drives to become more and more popular with many computer manufacturers including them in new pc ranges.  We stock Internal and External SSD drives from Integral. Prices for SSD drives are still relatively high but they have come down quite a bit in recent months. Our SSD range now starts at 32GB which is ideal for users wishing to give their computer a boost. We find that many people buy the 32GB drives to install basic programs and operating systems so that their pc’s have faster boot-up times while still making it an affordable solution.
