We now have stock of the latest range of Samsung  memory cards.  Samsung memory cards are some of the most durable on the market. Sandisk recently launched their new range of ultra high speed SDHC memory cards that adhere to the new UHS (Ultra High Speed) standard for the latest compatible SD3.0 devices meaning extremely fast transfer rates ideal for high resolution high burst shooting in DSLR camera and smooth streaming HD video or even 3D recording. The Sandisk Extreme Pro memory cards are now available in store and offer users of the latest SD3.0 compatible cameras and camcorders the extreme data transfer speeds.

We have recently received our first batch of the new Sandisk Cruzer Edge. This is the latest usb memory stick in the ever popular Cruzer range. The Edge is a very small portable usb storage device with a modern look that set’s it apart from any other drive on the market. It comes in Sandisk’s regular black and red colour but what makes this any different from the other Sandisk Cruzer’s on the market i hear you cry. Well the Cruzer Edge is the first Sandisk product to come bundled with the new Secure Access security software and 2GB online back-up.

Sandisk’s Secure Access software allows you to totally encrypt a section of the drive so that files are automatically password protected. You also get 2GB of online back-up so that files can be accessed online even if you don’t have your Edge with you. We think that Secure Access will be a welcome addition for many loyal Sandisk customers especially those that use their memory stick at work where files need to be encrypted for security reasons.

TOKYO – Three manufacturers of memory cards, Sandisk, Sony and Nikon started thinking about the future of the Memory card. All three agreed to propose a new format memory card into the CompactFlash Association.

According to all three, the standard storage media contained in CF6.0 specification will be abandoned. Average data transfer speed in a memory card, according to these standards is 167 Mbps.

But all three plan to propose new standards, where data transfer should reach 500 Mbps. In addition they also requested the Association to allow producers to make memory cards with capacities up to 2 TB.

As reported by Endgadget, the three official recently proposed a new memory card format switch from PATA to serial PCI Express to reach data transfer speeds up to 500 Mbps.

Proposal submission is the proposed standard because, according to all three, in the future manufacturers will soon be facing ‘explosion’ picture RAW format which has a large size as well as High definition video requires a large storage media as well. Of course, memory cards needed in the future should also support mainly to transfer their data more quickly to the computer.

“Compact Flash Association said it would study the proposal,” said board chairman CompactFlash Association, Shigeto Kanda.

Future world of professional photography and video applications will require faster memory cards ‘read’. Development of new high-performance standard card with a new interface will meet the needs of the industry for years to come

You can easily beat the vat increases at Low Price Memory as most of our items are vat free.  We are a Jersey based company and don’t charge vat on items sold under a certain value. Any item that you see on the website priced under £20 is  sold as vat free. This means that you are saving 20 percent on many items when compared to the prices of a UK based company.

The majority of memory cards on the site are under the vat free limit so there are plenty of big savings to be had at a time of year when most other companies are increasing their prices due to the January vat increase.

Due to the recent bad weather we are now asking customers to order on or before Friday 17th December if they would like to receive their items before Christmas.

The Royal Mail are taking roughly 2-3 days longer than usual to deliver items at the moment. This is a result of the backlog created by the recent bad weather. The worst hit areas are Scotland and the North of England although we have been seeing delays across the whole of the UK.
